the rain came and so did the grass

Out at the country house for the weekend. It's been two weeks since we were here because last weekend we went to Dallas for a wedding. It's so good to be home but the grass is about knee high and all we have is a funky weedeater that we curse. A half acre and one weedeater. Oh my aching back, arms, you name it! My brother-in-law has a mower that we can borrow but the trailer does not have a light kit. Husband went out and bought one today so maybe next weekend we can get the mower. Taking lots of pictures for next week's posts. All we have here is dial-up but it's better than nothing...I think. Right now I'm at the library using their high speed.

I want to thank Sydney from Adventures In Nature for also awarding me the One Lovely Blog award. Two in one week! My heart felt thanks and appreciation to all my readers.

Well, my time is running out here but I hated to be away for (gasp!) three days.

  1. Home sweet home, nothing like it! Even if the grass is too long!

  2. Happy Mother's Day Ellen! So glad to know you!

I'm thankful for your son's safety! I know that year must've been h*** for you - I held concern for every soldier out there since the beginning.

  3. Thanks Joy, the feeling is mutual.

My b-i-l took pity on us and showed up this morning with his mower. The yard looks great!

  4. Happy Mothers Day, and you're very welcome. The quality of your blog is such that it's no surprise you got two in a week. Enjoy the day!

  5. The grass here is growing so fast no one can keep up with it. Makes me grateful that here on the property on Tennessee Avenue we don't have even one blade of grass. What a relief!

  7. Once we get out here full time, much of the grass will be converted to flower beds and water garden.

  8. I'm thinking you need a little goat to keep your grass short. Peace.
