I'm
skipping breakfast this morning, something I rarely do. Usually the
meal I skip, if I have to skip one, is lunch. The reason is, we're
waiting for the big burly strong young men from the glass company in
the next town over to come move those big heavy glass panels around
for us and life being what it is, if I fix breakfast, they will
arrive just as I sit down to eat. If I don't fix it, they won't show
up for another hour.
So,
yes, we have finished the first panel for the A&M job and as
usual I am dissatisfied but we are on a tight schedule now to get the
last two completed and installed before the grand opening of all the
renovations in mid-November. We are already not going to make the
mid-October install I had wanted but I'm pretty sure that we will get
them in by the end of the month. Anyway, all that to say that if I
had more time I would have them put the finished panel on the table
so I could work on it with a hand tool to help bring out some of the
shading that isn't as distinct as I would have liked, though as long
as it's on the rack without good lighting it's really hard to tell
exactly what it is going to look like installed. Good enough I hope.
I keep telling myself that I am looking at it with a jaundiced eye
and that the client will think it's wonderful.
All
right, so the big burly guys came and went and I got a good look at
the panel in the sun and on the table and I think it will be
fine...with a few glaring to me
exceptions. So now the second panel is on the A-frame for blasting
and the third panel is on the table for it's stencil and the finished
panel is on the rack in the shop. Here's the section on the finished
panel that has Reveille.
So
now something totally unrelated...I think I mentioned that while
trying to find when Dana first started commenting on my blog that I
reread some of my very old posts and since hardly any of the people
almost none who were reading
and commenting back then aren't now, I wondered about re-posting some
of the ones I liked or got a big response. Sort of a Throwback
Thursday On The Blog thing. I'm actually feeling a little
hypocritical about it though as when I see a re-posting on a blog I
read I usually just scroll right on by. So, what's the consensus of
opinion here with my current readers? Would this be something you
would be interested in, reading a few old posts?
