you want me to what?

The cat woke me up out of a deep sleep early Friday morning, amid more involved dreaming that I don't remember, to go outside. She was very insistent. I fell back in bed and back to sleep for another hour or so before I got up. Hours later I still didn't feel completely awake. We finally got the rain Thursday early evening that had been predicted all week and Friday it was still overcast and humid lending itself to my lethargy. I intended to drive to Bay City and order the tile for the bathroom but around 3 PM I admitted I wasn't going that day.

Saturday morning, winter, ever the bad sport, slipped an icy finger down here with high winds plunging the temperature about 40˚ as a sort of 'fuck you' to spring and the dog and I occupied the couch all day reading and dozing. Well, I read, she dozed. OK, I dozed some too. This morning it was so cold in the house I had to turn the heater on while the temperature registered 42˚ outside. In April.

Looks like a third day of zero motivation.

  1. We covered the citrus trees on the deck with a light cloth just incase. It never got down below 37, but that is still cold for us! A little rain and even a sprinkle of snow, but sunny and warming today!

  2. Some days the energy is just not there and there is no way around it.

  3. Me too! Saturday I thought about going into Rosenberg for the Art and Craft show downtown. Thought. Overcast, windy, cold. Nope. Never got out of my chair!

  4. Pitiful here too. Snow and an earthquake woke me up Friday morning. Both rare as hen's teeth. Hate the cold.

  5. Zero motivation is top of my list, too, Ellen. Though I have packed away some serious reading. I just swore to Weaver, across the Pond, that one week from now will be the middle of April, and I'm going to the garden come hell or high water and mud.

  6. I am glad to hear that motivation is scant...I feel like I have company!

  7. I fought turning on the heat as long as I could, but finally, this morning, I gave in when the house hit 66. I think we were in the low 40s, too. I was too miffed even to look. "They" had said that by this afternoon the sun would be breaking through. Right.

Well, tomorrow's another day. At least by mid-week it's supposed to clear and warm up. Let us hope so.

  8. Boo to your weather, but at least it provided a good excuse for reading.
Thank heaven for good books. I feel sorry for people who don't understand the value of a quilt, a couch, and a book. Ever hear anyone talk about curling up with a good sitcom?
