We
woke up to sleet and 27˚. That's the warmest it's been all day. At
least the sleet stopped.
It's 25˚ now with a predicted low of 18˚
tonight. On my few quick forays out, the ground is crunchy and the
dog has refused to do anything outside except run back to the door.
Everything is encased in ice.
I put up blankets across the big bay
window in the living room. On the TV it's non-stop weather reporting,
all regular broadcasting cast aside.
When I get up to move around the
dog follows dragging the blanket like a cloak.
I'm
over winter now. It can go away.
That sounds horrible! Poor doggie. Poor plants. Poor you!
ReplyDeleteWe're about to get some of that but I don't think it's going to get into the teens. Just when I thought I was acclimating a bit to winter, too.
I'm so sorry. :(
ReplyDeleteYou have my wholehearted sympathy, and I put up with this crap, four months a year.
ReplyDeleteIt was mid 40’s today here but tonight we get that snow and maybe ice. I am also over it, but we aren’t even half way through winter. We will survive!
ReplyDeleteI wanted to go south but the cold is there also. -3 right now here.i can't believe this winter cold. Going out in an hour to look for eagles with a friend.
ReplyDeleteOh Minnie - that's hilarious! And who can bloody blame her? We've got snow today - I foolishly came into the office, but I'm heading back out again around noon.
ReplyDeleteLikewise over here in Houston, although I'm the one dragging the blanket around. There's still plenty of ice where there's shade, but tomorrow ought to be the end of it. Right now? It's 30, with a forecast low of 26 tonight. Then, tomorrow -- 41! The tropics, I tell you.
ReplyDeleteYours has been more bitter than ours. The ice is dangerous and forces us to stay inside, but we only got bits of snow that melted in a few days. I am so sorry, and am sure it is just a few weeks more.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow. I can't believe how cold it is there! Poor Minnie. She looks so forlorn.
