Last night...
The full moon rose over the cotton field,
fireflies flickered in the back*
and the space station passed right over the house.^

Make a sacrifice of your own before you impose one on someone else.
How many legs does the table of life have and how many does it need to stand?
love night shots like that!!!
ReplyDeleteWow - cool images!
ReplyDeleteOh Ellen- these shots are fabulous, wonderful, sent me right over ...the moon. Fireflies- I don't think I have ever experienced fireflies- as intriguing as phosphorescence in the sound, I am sure, critters that light up are fascinating, myth making,What a skill!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful images, but it's sad that NASA will no longer be sending astronauts up there to explore that frontier :(
ReplyDeleteellen it's been so long since i've seen fireflies - i can't even remember when i last saw them. i read books and people say they catch them and put them in jars and i wonder how and what that must look like. steven
ReplyDeleteWe used to see lots of fireflies, but the city started spraying the neighborhoods around the river for mosquitoes when the lime disease scares started. I think it kills out the fireflies, as well.
ReplyDeleteThe moon was stunning last night!
Very cool photos!! Love love love the moon shot!!
ReplyDeleteHugs

That. Is. Awesome!
ReplyDeleteWhat extraordinary images!
ReplyDeleteObviously, the moon photo spoke to me, but so did the fireflies. Reminded me so much of my childhood...
Beautiful.
Incredible!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, the full moon has been particularly glorious the last several nights. Wonderful shots. No fireflies for us yet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Cool picture of that space station across your sky. And fireflies? I haven't seen them since childhood. Magic.
ReplyDeleteI love fireflies! I tried to block the moon shining in my window and was unsuccessful......
ReplyDeleteHi ellen
ReplyDeletethese are three great shots and each with a story...
Happy days
What a wonderful set of night lights. Your moon shot is lovely. Fireflies are like magic.. and of course, so it the space station.
ReplyDeleteWow! Mesmerizing photos! The space station one... was that time lapsed??
ReplyDeleteAnd give me a good full moon image any day. The moon is amazing. And full moons are my favorite!
In Mississippi, we called fireflies lightning bugs. Here in Oregon, we don't have them. They're one of the many things I miss.
ReplyDeleteAlix - Time lapse, yeah. I didn't take it. It was the only picture I could find to illustrate it. But what I saw was two bright lights spaced apart with a blinking red light below and between them moving at a pretty good clip across the sky. It was pretty cool. I've seen satellites before moving across but they are like small stars. this was pretty big.
