...last
night we had freezing rain.
It
had already started to melt when I got up this morning but everything
was still encased in ice.
On
the upside, it was all very pretty and I think maybe, as bad as the
redbud looks, that it will actually be OK once everything melts.
Cruel but beautiful, yes.
ReplyDeletei'm ready for the return to 70s!
ReplyDeleteOh the little flowers. So sad.
ReplyDeleteHopefully everything survives; sometimes the coating of ice is protective? But oh those fruit tree blossoms...
ReplyDeleteAt least it's beautiful and your power hasn't gone out (*sound of knocking on wood*).
beautiful photo opportunity! WOW! gorgeous! No more bare foot Sally in the garden for a while?
ReplyDeleteBrrr! Ice storms can be so lovely but so damaging.
ReplyDeleteDon't they encase the fruit crop in ice to protect it? Here's hoping.
ReplyDeleteThat first picture looks like artwork. Sorry. :-(
ReplyDeleteI love ice art but not being in the middle of it.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - I especially like the first one.
ReplyDeletethose blossoms sure are glamorous dripping with diamond icicles.
ReplyDeleteOh I’m sorry.
ReplyDeleteKeeping my fingers crossed that not too much damage has been done. Blossom is very tender; if these were my fruit trees there’s be no fruit this year.
Oh my -- the cherry blossoms look so fragile with a coating of ice. Love the cedar tree -- your description is so apt.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful for sure but it's painful to see those blossoms under ice. I hope it survives. And the beautiful cedar will lift its skirts again.
ReplyDeleteNature can be cruelly artistic at times.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! Especially since it wasn't equally icy on the ground :)
