3 x 3

the wisteria across the street has been beautiful

the flowers are similar to the bluebonnet, both members of the pea family

you can see, they were past their prime when I finally took pictures

one of the many heritage roses in the yard

pretty in pink

this little bee was too busy to notice me

the mock orange, like snow on the branches

one of my favorites

it only blooms once a year

  10. Already!
All of these out in flower already. Don't you have a lead-in to the seasons? Philadelphus is for May, Wisteria is for May/June, Roses are for June.

I love the long drawn-out English season, everything takes its time, comes into flower slowly, stays for a while before making room for new splendour.

I have designed and planted my garden to produce a show from March to October; I think I need to be more appreciative of England and not complain so much about the grey skies and damp days.

  14. Glorious pictures, in particular, of the wisteria.

At our old house, we had a HUGE tree that in the springtime was COVERED in wisteria.

This post makes me want to cry.

Thank you for sharing that beauty with me.

  16. Wow! lady these are beautiful and you are kicking some butt with that camera too. We don't have anything that splendid around here yet. I think my neighbor transplanted some daffodils yesterday, but they don't look that awesome. I'll just come to your blog and enjoy ;-)

  17. Mock orange is one of my favorites too, but ours flowers in June! I can almost smell them through your photographs. We have a butterfly parade that comes every year and travels between the mock orange and another pink bush I have not found the name of.
