the wisteria across the street has been beautiful
the flowers are similar to the bluebonnet, both members of the pea family
you can see, they were past their prime when I finally took pictures
one of the many heritage roses in the yard
pretty in pink
this little bee was too busy to notice me
the mock orange, like snow on the branches
one of my favorites
it only blooms once a year
Oh my, I can almost smell the blossoms.....and really wish I could smell the wonder of Mock Orange. Fabulous hello April pictures. Happy weekend. TOB
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. It gives me hope for the spring that is about to hatch here.
ReplyDeleteOur neighbor has a mock orange (& a wisteria). I've missed the mock orange blooms for the two summers we've lived here. I'm going to make an effort to check it out this year!
ReplyDeleteYou have color. I have moss.
ReplyDeletejust a few brave daffodils here, but it should begin to explode with color soon
ReplyDeleteSigh.. it's just pretty bleak around here.. but beginning. Lovely shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ellen - I especially love the roses. Wow. I miss rose bushes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing.
Oh how BEAUTIFUL!
ReplyDeleteThe Wisteria is breath-taking.
all very lovely.
Great pix! I love the mock orange. Hope it smells as good as a real one!
ReplyDeleteAlready!
ReplyDeleteAll of these out in flower already. Don't you have a lead-in to the seasons? Philadelphus is for May, Wisteria is for May/June, Roses are for June.
I love the long drawn-out English season, everything takes its time, comes into flower slowly, stays for a while before making room for new splendour.
I have designed and planted my garden to produce a show from March to October; I think I need to be more appreciative of England and not complain so much about the grey skies and damp days.
Our wisteria is nowhere near coming out yet. I like the scent of the mock orange.
ReplyDeleteflourish! the song of flourishing. steven
ReplyDeleteI like the mock orange, too!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
ReplyDeleteI believe my favorite is the bee!
Glorious pictures, in particular, of the wisteria.
ReplyDeleteAt our old house, we had a HUGE tree that in the springtime was COVERED in wisteria.
This post makes me want to cry.
Thank you for sharing that beauty with me.
Mock orange is a favorite of mine. Stunning bloom. You know how to prune them for maximum effect I see.
ReplyDeleteWow! lady these are beautiful and you are kicking some butt with that camera too. We don't have anything that splendid around here yet. I think my neighbor transplanted some daffodils yesterday, but they don't look that awesome. I'll just come to your blog and enjoy ;-)
ReplyDeleteMock orange is one of my favorites too, but ours flowers in June! I can almost smell them through your photographs. We have a butterfly parade that comes every year and travels between the mock orange and another pink bush I have not found the name of.
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful. I love that sea of purple.
