I can’t believe it’s already October. I was supposed to be farther along than this. Further proof that time is speeding up, otherwise it’s me slowing down.
one of the signs of fall here is that the rain trees bloom
a low branch
later these small yellow flowers will turn into bigger pink papery seed pods
the tree was buzzing
a big black bumble bee
the honey bees were busy
moving quickly from flower to flower
it was hard to get a good picure
It's October???
ReplyDeleteWonder chance for the bees to feed before winter.
Nice shots! I want to see those papery seed pods! How long before they show up?
ReplyDeleteLove the tree! Dr. M & I went to see a play at the university & we admired a handful of trees that were turning - but mostly we were looking at flowers - there are so many still blooming here! It's pretty amazing to me - but I remember that our geraniums bloom through Halloween...
ReplyDeletethat is a beautiful tree! I've never seen one before.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tree Ellen...and beautiful pics!
ReplyDeleteso beautiful!
ReplyDeletehello ellen - i didn't know there was such a tree as a " rain tree". i wonder how it got its name? september disappeared quickly. too quickly. my slowness in relation its speed has left a doppler effect of puzzlement on my mind. you're not alone!!!! have a peaceful day. steven
ReplyDeleteThe blossoms on your rain tree look like the forsythia flowers we have in the Spring. Which, by the way, it feels like it just was!! I can't believe it's October either, where did summer go?
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty! And you DID get a good picture. The movement of the bees really makes the photos, I think. And the raintree is just gorgeous. Will you post more pictures when the pink papery seed pods emerge? I bet those will be gorgeous too.
ReplyDeleteI love October! It's my favorite month of the year!
I'll definitely post a picture when it forms it's seed pods, probably next month.
ReplyDeleteWonderful. I had no idea something blooms come fall. I am getting an education as to what the seasonal changes are here from you and am glad to have it. I can't imagine how these become papery pink but I think you might be planning to capture pictures of it when it happens.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the day. It's cloudy and rainy here, perfect weather to nurse a cold, which both of us have.
Looks to me like you got great shots.
ReplyDeleteWow, Ellen, it's beautiful. I've never heard of a rain tree. Does that mean I'm a true northerner? ;^)
ReplyDeleteYes it's hard to photograph those moving targets.
ReplyDeleteI never heard of a rain tree. It's cool that a tree blooms in October.
These pictures are beautiful! So nice to see the honeybees back at it. There were many more here this year than last. Maybe they're coming back from their fungus infection.
ReplyDeleteHappy October! "Supposed" to be further along, eh? Can you cut yourself some slack? Please? Please???
