she did it

Saturday morning we were up at 5 AM for the 2 1/2 hour drive to San Antonio for grandgirl Jade's graduation ceremony from University of Texas San Antonio Business School with honors! Her parents, one sister (Autumn is still in Ecuador), her aunt and uncle and two of her cousins from Fort Worth also made the even longer drive. Jade is a first generation college graduate on both sides. Neither Marc nor I or either of her parents graduated from college.

But this!

  3. Huge congratulations! Jade rocks. And she is where she is, in part at least, because of her grandparents' love and support.

  6. Great photos, job well done, Jade. I agree that without the support of parents and granny she may not have made it so well!

  8. Am I the only one who gets your post composed in wingding? I can copy it over to Word and it coverts to standard script and easy to read. But on the page it's wingding.
Pictures are awesome BTW. Joy and accomplishments are always awesome.

If you're curious about the wingdings send me an email address and I'll send you a screen shot.

    1. Ellen uses comic sans - I wonder if your computer doesn't have it? I usually get wingdings if I don't have that font.

    2. Well, that's bizarre. I have no idea why that is happening. I know what Wingdings is. I was writing in Skia but switched back over to Comic Sans a couple of posts ago when a reader asked because she had a hard time reading in Skia. And to make it more weird, when I go to my blog on my phone since I changed back to Comic Sans it shows up in the very flowery script font Zapfino. Are you accessing my blog on your phone or desk/laptop? I don't know what to tell you but I'm glad you go to the trouble to convert it into something readable.

    3. I happened to log in to your blog this afternoon on my phone, and the script was really different -- so fancy I hardly could read it, and I decided to wait until I got home. Here on my desktop, it looks fine. It may be the different browsers. I use Safari on the phone and Firefox on the desktop.

    4. I just realized that the email that comes via gmail has the comic sans font, too. But the comments section is in yet another font -- one of the old-fashioned but readable ones.

    5. I have no idea what's going on with the font on this post. Hopefully this is the only one affected. Apparently it's mostly the mobile view though my sister had it happen on her laptop. I don't think it's the different browsers. If you switch to web view on your phone it's a more readable font but still not comic sans.

  10. I was grinning all through the post. How absolutely wonderful and with honors. Is that you at the bottom?

  11. If you are reading this on your iPhone, I have no idea why it is showing up as Zapfino. I published in Comic Sans.
