bloom

I found after my last post that I was feeling quite drained.  I hadn’t really realized how much focus and energy I was putting into it until I was done.

I want to thank everyone for all the wonderful comments on this series of posts, whether you believe as I do or hold different beliefs.  I have responded to some of you via email which brings me to a question...should I have responded in the comments myself?  I had thought that I would do a follow-up with some of the comments and my replies, but now I’m not so sure.  It feels done to me.

We have been having some beautiful weather the last couple of days and today as well...mid 70s, low humidity, clear skies.  I will leave you today with a picture of the first bloom of one of the first spring bloomers, wildflower style, in my yard.

  1. Well, in my case it's all about me & if you replied in an email to me that's enough. Heh.

Lovely flower - it brightened my dreary Ohio day...

  2. Hope springs eternal.

There is nothing like a first bloom to remind us that even in the dead of winter that is always something warm getting ready to show it's face.

You not only responded to my comment, but several times. It's hard to know which is best... responding by email or in comments, especially if someone asks you a direct question that you answer privately. But I always thought comments were purer if they came only from visitors. That said, I comment in my own comments all the time. And not everyone has attached their email, so you kind of have no choice sometimes.

Anyway - your series was amazing Ellen. Really enjoyed your perspective on such a challenging subject.

  5. Yummy, that flower feeds my soul up here in Brrrr Michigan. We've had nothing but heavy grey days. I try to ignore it. But that flower reminds me . . . someday spring will rise again! Thanks!

  14. the series of posts were passionate and powerful. Sorry they left you drained! I found them fascinating and affirming (since I believe I share your "religion.")

As for your responses, you should do it any way you want!

  15. Your responses should be your own decision. We all have our own way.. no rights or wrongs. Except for that flower.. it's very, very right.
