a little arting, a little sewing, a little yard work

Friday night’s sunset.

Was it just a week ago I was moaning about how cold it was? It was 76˚ when I was working in the sun Sunday cutting back the rangoon creeper. This was my second go at the creeper, did a little Saturday evening, one more and I ought to have it all cut back and hauled to the burn pile. That leaves five more not counting the banana trees and that’s just over in the shop yard and around Pam’s house, though two of the five are relatively minor. And then there’s my yard.

I finally got out my watercolor pencils/crayons late Sunday to do a Valentine’s Day themed note card and bookmark for the drawing for door prizes for an event Hesed House is having on Friday. I got the bookmark done Sunday and the card yesterday

otherwise I’m working on Robin’s blanket which at this point she won’t need til next winter. Supposed to hit 80˚ today.

The other thing I did Sunday was edit the blogroll on my sidebar. I didn’t so much as edit it as remove it and add it back with changes since blogger would not let me make some of the changes through the edit function. It would let me add but it wouldn’t let me delete. And now it stubbornly refuses to display the links in order of most recently updated and blog post title. No matter how many times I tell it and save my preference it insists on listing blogs alphabetically. I also took out the link to my website which is a mess. I was in the process of updating and making major changes when my old computer was replaced and the new one didn’t support the program I used to upload changes. The fix would be to update the program but I can’t remember when I bought it or if I have proof of such or where that proof would be and would have to buy it again which I do not want to do. Since I no longer do any of the work for which the website was created I’m thinking about deleting it altogether.

Turns out I didn’t get much more done yesterday than the card. Today is groceries and this evening is the first Tai Chi class so I’m going to have to figure dinner out early since it’s also one of my nights to cook.

The Donny Horror Picture Show continues unabated. Since attacking Bad Bunny and the NFL, our Olympic athletes, immigrants in a country settled and populated by immigrants, citizens, and Democrats in general isn’t enough, he’s now attacking Canada (again) and demanding Canada turn over half ownership of a bridge connecting Michigan and Ontario built and paid for by Canada, a project approved by Obama, or he will refuse to let the American side open until the US is fully compensated! Fully compensated for something the US had no part in. And something something if Canadian trade deal with China something something China will terminate all ice hockey, permanently eliminate the Stanley Cup!

When a clown moves into a palace, he doesn’t become a king. The palace becomes a circus. - Turkish proverb.

And here we are. Unfortunately, it’s not an entertaining circus, more like the sinister traveling show in Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury.

  1. I saw that Trump threatened to close the bridge but I didn't hear about the reason. I guess I'm still not sure of the reason, actually! The Turkish proverb says it all.

When I edit my blog list, it gives me little trash can symbols next to the name of each blog, and if I click those the blog gets deleted. And when I enter the URL to list a new blog, it automatically converts to the feed URL. Then at the top of the edit box, I can choose whether I want the blogs to show alphabetically or in order of most recent updates. Do you see any of that?

    1. (You have to go into "Layout" on the dashboard and then click on the blog list to see the features I mentioned above.)

    2. Yes, and that's what I was doing but when I would click on the trash can and then hit save the buttons would go inactive and the window would freeze. As I mentioned it would work fine if I was adding but not when I was deleting which is why I had to delete the gadget and reinstall it but it still won't accept my preferences on the listing even though the save buttons work.

    3. Oh, that's weird. Maybe it's your browser? It might work in Chrome as opposed to Firefox or Safari, for example. Just a thought. (I use Chrome.)

    4. Clearing cookies might help too.

  2. The Idiot in Chief continues to grow more idiotic — and evil. The Turkish proverb is perfect. Beautiful creations and sunset.

  3. You have taken the name blanket idea up to a new level. It's so tidy and neat!
It got into the upper seventies here today too. I was shocked, unlike my reaction any time Speedo Dorito does or says anything these days.

  4. The bookmark and notecard are really fun! For some reason they remind me of the valentines we used to make using paper doilies as decoration. I suppose it's the edging around the hearts. All of the grocery stores have heaps of chocolate dipped strawberries for sale now. I found some really nice Driscoll strawberries, and I'm going to whomp up some sour cream and brown sugar to dip them in. I like the chocolate coatings, but commercially dipped berries usually aren't the best: good chocolate, so-so berries.

  5. Codex: There have been some updates so it might be best to leave it until they patch it. Try this on your phone Google and pick AI. Ask be precise and specific. Ask it more than once. Might have updated info.

  6. Codex: You can't anymore unless you change your template theme or go into html to do it yourself. Best I got.

  7. Just when you think it can’t get more surreal and bizarre it does.

  8. OK now that orange idiot is attacking HOCKEY. Two things about that - although Toronto is the "home" & where any play reviews are done, there are only four Canadian hockey teams & it's usually a US team that wins the Stanley Cup. And secondly, I haven't watched it, but apparently a whole swath of white women watch Heated Rivalry & might rise up as one group & smite him if he "cancels" hockey.

  9. Codex: The bookmark turned out well but boy do I hate valentines imagery. I wish they'd come up with something new.
