ReplyDeleteHey, Ellen- I was going to tell you not to give up on the idea of Cozumel. If you can get there fairly cheaply, there are plenty of options for inexpensive places to stay. And if you eat in the hood you can surely eat inexpensively too.

On my last walk I discovered a walking stick...insect type. I was so excited and he was so able to disappear and reappear. I later learned that they can be kept as pets and eat lettuce. I left him in his woods, but maybe next time....
ReplyDeletethese are such a wonderful collection of wonderful creatures. ( every time I say "wonderful" I feel like lawrence welk) We don['t have many frogs up here, too cold maybe, and our bug supply is also limited, a good thing usually, though I do miss them.

ReplyDeleteThat's some pretty great wildlife you got going on there:) We had torrential rain all day Wednesday, and the tiny frogs were jumping all over my road Wednesday night. They do love the moist places~

ReplyDeleteOn my walk the other day I must have seen 20 tiny little toads on the sidewalk - so cute! Isn't it the wrong time of year for there to be little ones though? Hmm...

ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a live frog in forever. It's a function of where I live, I suppose. There's just too much concrete. I do hear them now and then, and always enjoy it. I've been known to turn on an hour-long youtube video of frogs croaking. Warped, I know.
