skyscapes

Our days are filled with this.

In the late afternoon they coalesce into this and rain on others more north and west of here.  They need it too.

This one cooled off the air, gave us a refreshing breeze, rumbled in the distance.  I could even smell the rain as it went around us.

  1. They say if you don't like Texas weather, wait a day. "Hot and sunny" does seem to come up an awfully lot, though! Lovely pix.

  3. I also love the smell of rain. We haven't had rain since April and I am so loking forward to it. We may have another couple of months to go though.

  4. Clouds are my mountains. They've been spectacular this year here too. And yesterday we had rain - so nice.

    Gorgeous, Ellen.

  5. I think the brother of the cloud in that second pic came to visit my neighborhood last night. I'm going to post the pic today, if I ever get around to posting.

    Beautiful images!

  6. hi ellen, i'm so glad that you're posting beautiful cloud pics - i can't get enough of them. i love watching the big puffy ones (like your first picture here) change and coalesce and make babies that get subsumed into the bigger clouds and then off they go!!! such good pictures!! thanks. steven

  11. Gorgeous shots. I can almost detect the scent of moist dirt filling the air. Lovely post, Ellen.
