my life and art and whatever else catches my attention
The House At The End Of The World by Dean Koontz
Make a sacrifice of your own before you impose one on someone else.
How many legs does the table of life have and how many does it need to stand?
I always say that after 50, we need to keep moving, keep doing things, even if our knees/backs/feet or whatever hurt. If we sit down on the couch, pretty soon we won't be able to walk up the stairs or ... for god's sake ... get on the roof.
ReplyDeleteWow.
Awesome! Reminds me of a few Oldies I know!
ReplyDeleteI won't get on a roof now.. much less when I'm that age. Good for him. May he continue such independence for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteI wish I had done some of this before the snow came - I seem to have white on the inside too - it can wait until the thaw!
ReplyDeleteYour neighbour is one brave man. Well done to him.
ReplyDeleteWow what a superb inspiration. Age is a state of mind. My MIL is 84 still bowls, still plays golf, and is continuously mistaken for 65. may I be so lucky when I am older. great post.
ReplyDeleteMy mom does the same stuff. Mow her lawn with a push mower, bag leaves, cleans out her gutters, etc., etc. And she is 83!!!
ReplyDeleteLove these role models!!

I wish I were that agile, now!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that wonderful?! We have a neighbor like that who is 85 and maintains a property that looks like a park all by himself. We look on in awe, respect ... and as you say, hoping we can model ourselves on his example.
ReplyDeleteThat'll be my dad in 10 years...
ReplyDeleteWonderful! My Dad, now 89, put a new roof on his garage, after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, at 84! And he still maintains his yard, drives, and rides his exercise bike, 5 miles a day! Such an inspiration.
