Another week in
the city working on the mountain wall which leaves me little time to
compose and post (or read and comment) especially since my remaining
time is being spent trying to get this dozen or so small pieces cast
for the open house coming up the end of November/first of December.
So.
I've posted a
few pictures of the confederate rose that has been in full bloom the
last couple of weeks. I've been taking so many pictures of it
because it has been exceptionally beautiful this year. Amazing what
a little rain will do.
I leave you with
these.
Gorgeous! I've seen some tree/shrubs up here that kind of look like this. Probably not the same thing though.
ReplyDeleteMine is still blooming too! But it doesn't get enough sun and is not nearly as dramatic and bountiful as yours. Still, it is a glory.
ReplyDeletewow! it is loaded! so pretty and frilly.
ReplyDeleteSouthern Belles in ruffled skirts!
ReplyDeleteNot much is in bloom here, anymore so these are particularly nice to see.
ReplyDeleteOh MY she is a pretty girl!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! The plant doesn't look like a rose bush at all.
ReplyDeleteI have a Hibiscus that's very similar to this plant. The leaves and pods look exactly the same but my plant's flower looks like a hibiscus.
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat Meri said.
ReplyDeleteroses in full bloom in October. unbelievable.
ReplyDeleteI hope your work makes you happy and never mind about blogging. There are loads of us who are finding that blogging is getting in the way of, well, other things.
Lovely confederate rose, Ellen. I can practically smell it! Good luck w/your work. Deadlines. ;)
ReplyDeleteRoses in November! How sweet is that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Is a confederate rose the same as a rose-of-sharon? It looks kind of similar, or at least related.
ReplyDeleteThe rose is absolutely spectacular!!! Is that in Wharton?
ReplyDeleteLovely - thanks! (We're pretty stripped to the bare branches now in MN.)
