my life and art and whatever else catches my attention

Sometimes, when we are discouraged by a difficult situation, anger does seem helpful, appearing to bring more energy, confidence and determination. And while it is true that anger brings extra energy, it eclipses the best part of our brain: its rationality. So the energy of anger is almost always unreliable. It can cause an immense amount of destructive, unfortunate behavior. - Dalai Lama
True happiness comes from having a sense of inner peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved by cultivating altruism, love and compassion, and by eliminating anger, selfishness and greed. - Dalai Lama

Are we really talking Spring here? Are those for real? Everyone's in their winter caves here in CT, hibernating for a good long time still ... Love those wind chimes, I'll bet they sound pretty.
I've just been following your blog for a short time, but was wondering if you ever thought about putting your art on Etsy??? I put my stuff on there and every once n awhile, I get a sale. With this economy, every little bit helps??? Your pieces are simply wonderful... :)
those little leaf sculptures are precious! i do hope you will be busy - with work! :)
Nope, we most certainly do not want to let those weather gods know the weather is just too lovely for words given it is January. Better to keep it a secret from them I think.
All these pieces are so dang beautiful, and I so much love the wind chimes. I'm very happy to hear you're into the workshops and I hope it drums up business for you. So much of anything nowadays seems to be in the marketing. Sad but true.
These leaf sculptures are very very nice. And blue bonnets. This is what I think of when I think of Texas.
I think you should show off more often!
Love your little leaf sculptures.
After the weekend in the garden - remarking upon how pleasant and mild it was for January we have been lashed by strong winds and heavy heavy rains!
Such gorgeous little treasures, your leaf sculptures.
I hope you get lots of commissions in the new year.
Signs of spring already? We haven't even had winter here yet. Don't get me wrong, I don't want another repeat performance of the last two years but bugs need to be killed off before spring.
Having said that there are lots of tiny signs of promise in my garden too.
Just around the corner for spring, where here we haven't really had any heavy winter yet.
Texas fascinates me. My cousin who lives south of the Red River would have his garden started in February. Amazing.

I've got some new residential work on the horizon. I look for opportunities for you.
Wow.. our winters sure do differ between your neck of the woods and mine. I love those wind chimes.. beautiful.
I think the sprouts in your garden are an excellent portent for the coming year. I, too, am trying to pull together the pieces. The holiday season exacts its inch of flesh.
Onwards to 2012.
Btw your sculptures are gorgeous.
Showing off your work is a good thing :)! I love the first piece.
Winter here has barely started. No sign of flowers!
I love the wind chimes
I hope your busy week is paying off
all those spring like shots are very hopeful :)
The artwork is fantastic. I also love the box on your sidebar. Talented people amaze me.
The weather in Nevada is much like yours in Texas - unfortunately it's not normal. Very warm. No snow at all, which is strange because last year had so much of the stuff.
Ellen- This is not the place for modesty. No, no! We love to see your work. It's beautiful, as are your photos, and this lovely post.
We're having a bit of a winter respite--50's today in New England. What is happening! Birds are chirping and all the kids are riding bikes. Crazy. No pretty flora popping up, though. ;)
Beautiful!
Love the chimes.
